Fringe: Mark Englert's "The Plateau" Poster

Posted by Grey Wednesday, January 9, 2013

The Fight for the Future is almost over. With Fringe coming to a close next week, we take a look at The Plateau, an inspired print based on the consistently intriguing sci-fi series from artist Mark Englert

In "This is My Farm… I’ll Die Here," we have earlier witnessed Mark Englert's disquietingly moving rendition of a setting from AMC's live-action TV adaptation of The Walking Dead. Cleverly presenting the same setting in two varying scenes of varying levels of drama, the print was a haunting reminder that captured the spirit of the particular arc.

Now imagine our delight upon stumbling into Englert's latest print with a similar concept but for yet another favourite television series of us here at The Daily Zombies: Fringe. Without further ado, hit the jump to check out both versions, normal and glow-in-the-dark, of the very same print.

We have earlier reported on the official announcement of the two-hour series finale on January 18 and with the date coming close, Gallery 1988 has kicked off "Fringe Benefits," an art initiative that encourages fans of the series to vote for their favourite Fringe episodes just so that awesome artists such as Englert can turn them into screen prints.

With that, any self-respecting fans of the consistently intriguing sci-fi series from Fox should already recognize the episode the above two versions of the same prints are based on. Drawn straight from the Season Three episode, "The Plateau," the glow-in-the-dark ink were utilized to illustrate the different universes of the same setting with Peter Bishop and The Observer missing from it.

The awesome print has rightly been sold out by now but if you are interested in these, do keep an eye on "Fringe Benefits," of which proceeds support The Mission Continues, a community service fellowships for veterans.
