WATCH David Cronenberg's Secret Weapons

Behold, self-respecting fans of the sci-fi cinema, the grandeur vision of a futuristic 1977 by the film-maker who originated the "Body Horror" genre, David Cronenberg.

David Cronenberg is no doubt well-recognized in the cinematic field and his works have been much-debated by both film scholars and casual movie-goers alike. However, one can hardly argue the Canadian film-maker's contribution to the world for originating the "Body Horror" genre by crossing the border of Horror and sci-fi and unleashing a horror transcending both the physical and psychological.

In 1972, Cronenberg, then an upstart film-maker, worked with his frequent collaborator, writer Norman Snider, on a "made-for-TV" short film for the Canadian anthology TV series, Program X. Entitled "Secret Weapons, the short film aired and became a lost film subsequently. Until now.

Thanks to the awesome mights of the internet, Cinephilia and Beyond brings to us the short film with a most intriguing take on a (then) futuristic 1977 where science meets magic. Hit the jump to check out the entire short film running at approximately 21 minutes.
