The Lone Ranger: International Trailer

Hi-ho, Silver, away... to Japan. Brace yourself for explosive actions in the international trailer of Gore Verbinski's upcoming film adaptation of The Lone Ranger.

We have had our fair amount of sneak previews at Disney's upcoming action western film, The Lone Ranger, director Gore Verbinsky's modern retelling of the adventures of the eponymous iconic American Old West hero with both Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp in the roles of respectively, The Lone Ranger and Tonto. From the first and second trailer to the Super Bowl TV spot, we have seen enough oddities that one can expect from the likes of Johnny Depp and long-time collaborator Gore Verbinsky. But with the new international trailer, the weirdness goes to a more uncomfortable place where Barry Sonnenfield's critically-panned Wild Wild West went back in 1999 when Helena Bonham-Carter flaunted her implausibly hidden weaponry.

Hit the jump to check out the full trailer.

Here’s the synopsis for the film:

“The Lone Ranger” is a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.

Starring Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson, and Helena Bonham Carte, The Lone Ranger is currently scheduled for an open date on July 3, 2013.
