WATCH Zombieland the Series - Zombie of the Week

Yes, it might be the cheap knock-off of the original, but it is after all free undead entertainment that reminds you how endearingly entertaining the 2009 film directed by Ruben Fleischer was.

On April Fools' Day here at The Daily Zombies, we have quite the pathetic April Fools' Day joke with our First Look at Zombieland, the TV series. For the uninformed, Zombieland was a zombie comedy directed by Los Angeles-based film-maker Ruben Fleischer who went on to make Gangster Squad, reuniting him with fellow Zombieland collaborator Emma Stone. Incidentally, the film also made screenwriters duo Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick their reputation while cementing the coming of new generation actors Jesse Eisenberg and the earlier mentioned Stone. And perhaps even more significantly, the film was honored "Zombie Of The Year 2009" by us here at The Daily Zombies after grossing more than $60.8 million in 17 days and thus surpassing the Dawn of the Dead remake to become the top-grossing zombie film in history.

So the question is why are we not exactly excited with Amazon’s potential Zombieland TV show that picks up two weeks after the film ended with screenwriters duo Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick back for the scripts? Well, how about taking on this question yourself now that Amazon has released the pilot for the Zombieland the Series for free

Afraid that you might spent your remaining lifetime bemoaning the loss of that twenty-nine minutes you will never get back? Check out the trailer for the show right after the jump for a sneak preview.

Game for the show, check out this link to head over to Amazon.

Back on the subject, the television adaptation isn't really that bad. It's a mildly entertaining twenty-nine minutes but it is exactly what we forecast: A Zombieland that is lower-budgeted, a little more camp, and with an uninspired cast.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer and to find out how you can watch the full Zombieland pilot for free. With Amazon making all of their pilots available online to let fans decide which ones should be green-lighted to be an actual TV series, we fear the worst for this one. But then again, we probably should not.

As a recap, here's the cast: From left to right, Izabela Vidovic (Help for the Holidays) as Little Rock, Kirk Ward (Fully Loaded) as Tallahassee, Maiara Walsh (Switched at Birth) as Wichita. and Tyler Ross (Milkshake) as Columbus.
