It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman drowning in a sea of skulls in the awesome new trailer of Man of Steel. Brace yourself as we checked out the latest trailers, posters and set images from the much anticipated film directed by Zack Snyder.

Here at The Daily Zombies, we have been covering our most anticipated film of the year, Man of Steel, with the utmost attention from the first trailer until now.

While the most recent trailer (incidentally the third official trailer) is in our opinion the best of the lot in terms of striking a great balance of drama and action, the latest trailer contained one particularly situation that we have never saw in the 75 years history of "the most recognized and revered character of all time in the pantheon of superheroes": Drowning in a sea of skulls. Now that is truly something we have never seen before.

Without further ado, hit the jump to check out this trailer aptly entitled "Fate of Your Planet."

Can't get enough of the cool imagery of the trailer, here are some of the more interesting images from these screen captures for your easy consumption.

Along with the tons of tv spots for the films, we have seen more than we expected to and we regard that as a majot spoiler zone. As such, in an effort to maintain the necessary level of spoiler-free information, here's the cleanest tv spot we can find.

Like most Warner Bros. Pictures' franchise, a series of character posters have been released.

And here are the other posters.

Courtesy of Geek Tyrant,  here are more concept and promo art prints for the film that are available from GBPosters. Immediately apparent of the dark choice of graphic interpretation for the iconic superhero, hit the jump for these cool images.

And here are some official images from the film. Most were released unofficially earlier through various sources so what we have here are the bona fide high resolution original.

Here's the official synopsis of the film:

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone's imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question - Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as "Superman," not only to shine as the world's last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Christopher Meloni, and Russell Crowe, Man of Steel is currently scheduled to be released in 2D, 3D and IMAX on June 14, 2013.
