The Hunger by Midnight Marauder: Undead Monday

Posted by Grey Monday, May 6, 2013

This Undead Monday, we revisit Tony Scott's 1983 supernatural cult film, The Hunger, with a cool new rendition of the film by artist Midnight Marauder

We have last checked out the graphic works of artist Midnight Marauder with his signature grainy art style with his take on The Deer Hunter for Hero Complex Gallery’s Oscar Legends Show as well as his alternate rendition of the upcoming zombie film, World War Z, along with the other seven artists from The Print Posse

This Undead Monday, we stumbled upon yet another cool alternate reinterpretation piece from the artist for a comparably lesser known film: The Hunger. Helmed by the late great Tony Scott in 1983, the supernatural romance/horror film was one of the first truly intriguing visions of the vampiric kind in cinematic history. One that is perfectly in line with the modus operandi of the Midnight Marauder as he work on this Criterion Cover.

From the words of the artist himself:

It’s an experimental art house vampire flick that I have always liked for it’s ‘rock n rollness’.  Tony Scott needs to be talked about a little more since his unfortunate passing last year. I think the film community needs to give the guy his proper dues. I am hoping to work on more of his films later this year.”

Hit the jump to check out the appropriately cool take on The Hunger.

And here are the original poster as well as the VHS cover.
