Alex Ross takes on zombies, yet again

Earlier last month at San Diego Comic-Con, critically acclaimed painter/artist Alex Ross takes on the undead with his photo-realistic painted rendition of the Walkers from AMC's wildly-popular live-action TV adaptation of the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard. And the result is truly astonishing.

Today, we stumbled upon yet another take on the undead by Ross with some giant mecha and a World War I setting to fulfill your wildest zombie-killing fantasy. Unveiled by art dealer Sal Abbinanti on his Twitter account, the piece is commissioned for the Zombies map "Origins: for the final DLC pack of Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Set in a battlefield in Northern France during World War I, the map features the return of the original group as playable characters against zombies, giant mechas, and your standard issue Mark IV tanks.

Hit the jump to check out the piece.
