Pacific Rim: Fan-made Retro Trailer & Poster

What if Pacific Rim is made by Toho (東宝株式会社) back in the heydays of Kaijū Eiga (怪獣映画, giant monster films) ?

With Guillermo del Toro's promise that that Pacific Rim will be "the finest fucking monsters ever committed to screen", the film released by Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures has no doubt more than fulfilled the pledge. Steadfast behind that drive would be del Toro's dedication in creating the ultimate tribute to the now obscure genre made famous by the Japanese back in the early days of cinema. Particularly, the Godzilla films released by Toho.

And now, thanks to honda brigit, we can have a glimpse at how Pacific Rim would have been like had it been produced by Toho during the heydays of Kaijū Eiga (怪獣映画, giant monster films). Hit the jump to check out the nifty clip complete with the nostalgic Toho style one would expect.

In the very same vein of retrospective reimagining, infernoprison knock out this cool Kaiju-style poster of the film.
