Captain America: The Winter Soldier - First Trailer & New Poster

Posted by Grey Thursday, October 24, 2013

With the Asgardian Avenger set to return to the big screens in mere weeks with Thor: The Dark World, the First Avenger himself makes his presence felt with the release of the first trailer of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

On the heels of the box-office records smashing success of The Avengers, the Phase Two of the all-conquering Marvel Studios kicked off with one hell of a blast thanks to Iron Man 3 (for doubters, the film is as of now the number one box office records of 2013) back in April. With the God of Thunder himself making a godly return in Thor: The Dark World in less than two weeks, the mighty marketing engine of Marvel is once again firing on all cylinders to promote the next chapter of Phase Two: Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Like any other self-respecting Marvel Zombies, we here at The Daily Zombies have been following the sequel to Captain America: First Avenger diligently with our First Look at Captain America: The Winter Soldier, followed by the unveiling of the first poster along with some kick-ass concept art for the film during the Marvel Studios' Hall H Panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Coinciding with the upcoming release of Thor: The Dark World, the first trailer of Captain America: The Winter Soldier has been released by Marvel Studios.

Hit the jump to check out some intense action sequences, Robert Redford appearances, Anthony Mackie's Falcon in action, Scarlett Johannson's Black Widow sporting a new hairdo (the third in as many Marvel Cinematic Universe films), and more importantly, Chris Evans' good old-fashioned blue-eyed patriot facing off with the eponymous Winter Soldier.

And here's the recently-unveiled new poster for the film.

Courtesy of USA Today, here are some official images from the film.

Here's the official synopsis for the film:

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is currently scheduled to be released in April 4, 2014.
