Pro Wrestlers Vs. Zombies - Zombie of the Week

Posted by The Daily Zombies Friday, October 11, 2013

Two arguably cult element of pop culture collide in "Pro Wrestlers Vs. Zombies" as WWE drop-outs Kurt Angle, Matt Hardy, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Terry Funk and more take on hordes of undead in this laughably bad zombie comedy funded thanks to Kickstarter.

While it's considerably much enticing for us to come out with catchphrases such as ""WWZ comes to WWE", we would feel bad if we soil WWE's arguably good name here by associating them with this particular film blessed with a sure-fire title for a "Total Non-stop Action" (pun intended) film: Pro Wrestlers Vs. Zombies.

Pro-wrestling has been around for longer than what most initially expected despite facing a declining audience as a fall-out of the end of the Attitude Era. Zombies, on the other hand, have been a mainstay of pop culture for some time and elevated even further of late thanks to a slew of properties with great qualities in recent times. The undead are apparently heading to the cross-over genre now, much like how cowboys bumped into aliens these days. And there you have it, a $30,000 Kickstarter project launched by Cody Knotts, Pro Wrestlers Vs. Zombies.

Featuring genuinely big-names in the business such as Kurt Angle and to a lesser extent, Rowdy Roddy Piper, the indie horror comedy also featured a cast no self-respecting wrestling fans would be unfamiliar with: Matt Hardy, Hacksaw "Jim" Duggan, Shane "The Franchise" Douglas, Scott "Raven" Levy, Larry Zbyszko, Terry Funk, and many more. And just as expected, the film is pretty much as bad as you can imagine that for some wrestling enthusiasts, we are certain that this is going to be entertaining. For starters, I would pick this one in a heartbeat over watching that Total Divas crap.

With no further ado, hit the jump to check out the two revealing trailers for the film where among the many spectacles is a scene where Kurt Angle finally take out somebody's ankle with his patented Ankle Lock.

The second and lengthier trailer.

Posters for the film.
