Think you have witnessed every great Batman Vs. The Joker encounters? Brace yourself for the existential final battle between the Dark Knight and the Clown Prince of Crime in Batman: The Deal, a truly awesome fan-fiction masterfully conjured by the dynamic duo of Gerardo Preciado and Daniel Bayliss

In Christopher Nolan's seminal superhero epic, The Dark Knight, we witnessed one of the most intense encounters between Batman and his eternal nemesis, The Joker. While their actual face-to-face encounters in the film are limited, both iconic characters have cast an overpowering shadow on each other throughout the entire film (yet again bringing us to the comparison of The Dark Knight to Michael Mann's 1995 crime epic, Heat, apart from the Gotham/Chicago landscape). Arguably one of the greatest rivalries of all time, the neverending eternal battle between the Dark Knight and the Clown Prince of Crime has always been the subject of almost every acclaimed works surrounding the Batman mythology. And today, we here at The Daily Zombies are truly blown away by a new story arc taking on the subject from a most unlikely source. Fan fiction.

Batman and The Joker have always been described as the flip side of the same coin and their epic struggle is best described in the immortal words of Heath Ledger's Joker, "Oh, you. You just couldn't let me go, could you? This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. You truly are incorruptible, aren't you? You won't kill me out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness. And I won't kill you because you're just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever."

In Batman: The Deal, the dynamic duo of writer Gerardo Preciado and artist Daniel Bayliss takes the neverending battle to its very end: The final and inevitably confrontation between Batman and The Joker. Pushed to his edge, Batman takes on The Joker for the very last time, and this is where the story takes an unexpected turn to the existential as we go on an unprecedented ride that reexamine the Batman mythology and to a certain extent, the very meaning of life. While the effective writing and deft pacing of the story by Gerardo Preciado are no doubt one of the key element of the success of this fan fiction, the beautiful Paul Pope-esque artwork by Daniel Bayliss also enhance the 14-page comic to boldly transcend over the conventional expectations and opinions that most readers have for a final bout between Batman and The Joker.

While we hate to spoil any element of this great work of fan fiction, we do know for a fact how the general opinions for fan fiction can turn people away. As such, here are the first two pages of the story to entice you to follow through the 14-page story. Still, we strongly encourage you to go in without any opinions formed so do head over to the official site of Gerardo Preciado and Daniel Bayliss to read the entire story. For those who prefer to have a teaser, hit the jump for the first two page.
