RoboCop: New Trailer & Poster

Posted by The Daily Zombies Thursday, November 7, 2013

Have another look at the Future of Law Enforcement with the release of the second trailer of RoboCop, the upcoming reboot of the 1987 sci-fi classic of the same name

Does this world needs a RoboCop, remade, remold, reintroduced to this grittier world than the chaotic late 80s? Or is this as necessary as the other Paul Verhoeven sci-fi classic remake, Total Recall, by Len Wiseman? Which, to the uninformed, is another word for unnecessary.

A believer of José Padilha's take on the 1987 epic, or naysayer that doubt the acclaimed Brazilian film-maker's touch on RoboCop? Decide for yourself with a closer look thanks to MGM and Sony who have released the second trailer and poster for the film.

Without further ado, hit the jump to check out the new trailer.

While the new poster do not pack as much of a punch as the first, it does serve its purpose.

And here are some of the newly-unveiled official images courtesy of the film's official Facebook page.

Here’s the official synopsis for the film:

In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.

Starring Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jay Brauchel, Jackie Earle Haley, and Samuel L. Jackson, RoboCop is scheduled to open on February 7, 2014.
