Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: First Look

The Ape-ocalypse has been televised... Gaze into the eyes of apocalypse in the first teaser trailer of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes as we find ourselves embarking on the journey back to the remarkable reboot prequel world to the classic Planet of the Apes franchise.

Back in 2011, we were intrigued by the prospects of something we didn't exactly saw coming: The prequel of a surprisingly long-lived film franchise that has its iconic beginnings way back in 1968. Of course, we are talking about the original Planet of the Apes starring Charlton Heston. And here we are talking about the upcoming sequel to 2011's Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, a film that shattered our expectation and went on to deliver an engagingly moving tale of the baptism of fire that ignited the end of mankind... and the rise of the apes.

While the sequel will no longer be directed by British writer and film director Rupert Wyatt, it has indeed found a capable successor in Matt Reeves, the film-maker who brought us Cloverfield and Let Me In. With a new stellar cast featuring Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Kirk Acevedo, Toby Kebbell, Enrique Murciano, and Judy Greer, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is easily shaping up to be in line for our upcoming "Top 13 Most Anticipated Films of 2014".

With no further ado, hit the jump to check out the brief but darkly intriguing trailer.

To coincide with the first look reveal of the trailer, four posters have been released thus far for you to relive the intense stare of Caesar.

Here’s the official synopsis for the film:

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier.  They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is currently scheduled for release on 11th July, 2014.
