Interstellar: First Look

Posted by The Daily Zombies Sunday, December 15, 2013

Easily one of our most anticipated films of 2014, here's our first glimpse at Christopher Nolan's Interstellar with the release of the first teaser trailer of the sci-fi film by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Longtime fans who have been following The Daily Zombies would know for a fact that we are big fans of British film-maker Christopher Nolan, not just for the impeccable Dark Knight Trilogy but since his second feature film back in 2000, Memento. Despite the fact that we know next to zero about Nolan's next film, Interstellar, apart from the fact that it is a sci-fi film featuring a stellar cast (boasting the likes of Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, John Lithgow, Casey Affleck, Wes Bentley, David Oyelowo, Ellen Burstyn and Michael Caine), there is no denying the fact that we have a shoo-in Film of the Year contender at hand anytime Nolan is rolling out a new film.

Which is why our excitement over Warner Bros. Pictures' release of their latest trailer is only self-explanatory. Continuing the ongoing spate of releases of red-hot trailers of sci-fi films for next year, brace yourself for your first look at Christopher Nolan's Interstellar.

The official site for the film has also been recently set up and the following logo of the film is what we can gathered for now.

Here's the synopsis of the film, courtesy of

Interstellar is a movie by Director, Christopher Nolan (Inception, Dark Night Trilogy).

Mainly based on the scientific theories and script treatment of renowned theoretical physicist, Kip Thorne. Interstellar is set to be released in November 7, 2014.

Nolan and Emma Thomas are producing with Lynda Obst, and Jordan Goldberg is exec producing. Obst commissioned the original treatment and Steven Spielberg came aboard in 2006, when Paramount owned DreamWorks and after the filmmaker became intrigued by Caltech physicist and relativity expert Kip S. Thorne and his scientific theory that wormholes exist and can be used for time travel. Spielberg set Jonah Nolan to write the script, which made it easy for Christopher Nolan to come aboard after Spielberg left the project. The ambition is that Interstellar will depict a heroic voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding.

The film is co-finaced by Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. Entertainment. In coming to a deal with its rival studio, Warners, which maintains an overall deal with Nolan's Syncopy label, relinquished to Paramount its rights to co-finance the next Friday the 13th horror film as well as a potential future South Park movie, which are two properties that were originally owned by Paramount before being brought by Warners. Also included in the negotiations was an agreement to let Paramount co-finance a to-be-determined A-list Warners property.

Interstellar is set to open on 7th November 2013.
