The Expendables 3: First Look

Posted by The Daily Zombies Thursday, December 19, 2013

Stallone. Schwarzenegger. Snipes. Ford. Statham. Li. Lundgren. Banderas. Gibson. The very best of the A to B' graded action movies assemble yet again in the third installment of Stallone's ensemble action film franchise.

Being the cynical undead beasts that we are here at The Daily Zombies, we opened ourselves with welcoming arms to Sylvester Stallone's ode to the 80s and 90s gloriously B' graded action films, The Expendables film franchise, with the second instalment including the likes of action icon such as Chuck Norris and Jean Claude Van Damme. Perhaps it's the fact that we grew up in the VHS era, or we are just simply enamoured by the incredibly assembled cast. With the relative success of The Expendables 2, a third outing is all but guaranteed.

With Norris, Willis, and Van Damme out, we welcome Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Ronda Rousey, Kellan Lutz, Kelsey Grammer (?), and last but certainly not the least, Mel Gibson as antagonist and former partner of Stallone's Barney Ross, Conrad Stonebanks. With the film set to hit the screens next August, Lionsgate has released a sneak peek at the film with a teaser trailer featuring every cast in the film striking an action movie pose. Precisely what we expected. Hit the jump to check out the teaser trailer.

Yes, that's everybody.

Here's the official synopsis of the film:

In THE EXPENDABLES 3, Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables — but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.

The Expendables 3 is currently scheduled to be released on 15th August, 2014.
