Artist Doaly pays tribute in the best way he can with an awesome series of poster chronicling Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

Longtime followers of The Daily Zombies would know for a fact that Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy held a very important place in cinematic history for at least us here at The Daily Zombies. While The Dark Knight Rises does not exactly rise above The Dark Knight in our opinion, the trilogy redefined the term "Reboot" for every Hollywood studios following the excellent reboot in Nolan's 2005 effort, Batman Begins. While we know for a fact by now that The Dark Knight reached a pinnacle unreachable despite the boom of comic superhero films, the entire trilogy is at an high point in cinematic history.

Along came Doaly, who we believe to share our sentiments.

A member of the Print Posse (or Poster Posse) that we have previously covered in the alternate posters for Pacific Rim, we take a close look at the artist's tale on the epic trilogy as well as his thoughts on the project.

Batman Begins

“Why do we fall?” this quote from ‘Batman Begins’ is one of the many reasons why I fell in love with the film, in the series I wanted to capture defining moments in the film/character progression that make this trilogy truly amazing.  For Begins my aim was to capture the moment where Bruce’s journey would begin onto the path of Batman and for Rises we have come full circle with the character, all that’s left is to fill the gap with the Dark Knight.  Some would say the hardest of the three to visualize.

The Dark Knight

“My thoughts on the final poster was like the previous, to take from a monologue in the movie and chart the character’s progress. In this movie Batman played the role of guardian of the city even when the city didn’t know how much he did for them. I wanted this to echo as part of the city itself and there’s a cheeky nod to the joker within the poster as you couldn’t have Dark Knight poster without him.”
