Guardians of the Galaxy: First Trailer, Poster & Teaser Clips

Posted by The Daily Zombies Thursday, February 20, 2014

“What a bunch of A-Holes.

You’re Welcome.”

Finally, brace yourself for a fun-filled space-faring adventure with the release of the first trailer, poster, as well as an assorted collection of the first wave of marketing assault for James Gunn's much-anticipated take on Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy.

Easily one of the most highly-anticipated films of 2014 here at The Daily Zombies, we have been diligently covering Guardians of the Galaxy, one of the two films from the Phase Two of the Marvel Studio's box-office-smashing Marvel Cinematic Universe along with Captain America: The Winter Soldier. While we have just covered the latter film with its presence at the recent Super Bowl XLVIII deeply felt, we have to admit that our undead beating hearts are with James Gunn's take on the oddballs of Marvel with the film hitting the screens in August.

With the release date of the film drawing ever closer, Marvel Studios has chosen this otherwise sleepy week in cinema to release the first trailer of the film, giving us a taste of the irreverent take on the superteam. While most of these footage might seemed familiar for fans who were there at Hall H with the Marvel Studios Panel at last year's San Diego Comic-Con, it still proves to be some amazing stuff for fans of the obscure comic book series.

With no further ado, hit the jump to check out the awesome trailer.

And here are the individual teasers focusing on each of the five members of the Guardians of the Galaxy, including our first glimpse at Bradley Cooper lending his voice as fan-favorite character Rocket Racoon. Hit the jump to check out all five clips.

With Chris Pratt taking the lead, it is only fair and right for Parks and Recreation to have a mash-up clip colliding the show with the scene.

Can't get enough of the good stuff? Here are some of the most intriguing screenshots from the trailer to tide you over from the second trailer.

The first official poster for the film.

Courtesy of USA Today, here are some of the new official images from the film.

Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket Racoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper), Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) and Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista) are on a mission to save the universe in “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

The Milano, the Guardians’ muscle car of a spacecraft, flies high over Xandar, the home of the Nova Corps, in “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Chris Pratt stars as Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, a child of the 1980s and main “Guardians of the Galaxy” hero who was taken from Earth when he was 9 and raised in space.

Here are the rest of the newly-released official images from the film.

Impressively, the adorable Karen Gillian, better known as Amy Pond in BBC's Doctor Who, in an absolutely unrecognizable turn as Nebula, one of the two main antagonists of the film (we are still awaiting for the unveiling of Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser).

Here's the official synopsis for the film:

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team – the Guardians of the Galaxy.  An action-packed epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the universe.  To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits – Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer.  But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand – with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.  Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” is presented by Marvel Studios. The film releases August 1, 2014, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Michael Rooker, Djimon Hounsou, Peter Serafinowicz, and Benicio Del Toro, Guardians of the Galaxy is currently scheduled to be released on 1st August 2014.
