Posted by The Daily Zombies Tuesday, February 4, 2014

Last night's Big Game brought us yet another stunning look at Marc Webb and Sony's upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man 2, a follow-up that is shaping up to be a promising sequel that seeks to right the wrongs of its predecessor.

Last night, literally millions were spent by the marketing machines of every single advertisers to sell you stuffs no matter if you need it or not. Interestingly, the debate on the necessity of Marc Webb's relaunch of one of Marvel Comics' greatest superheroes has been ongoing since the release of the first film back in 2012. And here we are at the verge of its sequel with news and announcements galore on spin-off films focusing on Sinister Six and Venom. Is Sony bitting off more than it can chew or have they uncovered a way to expand the Spider-Man film franchise into uncharted territories the likes of Marvel Cinematic Universe has demonstrated? Only time will tell on that one, but for now, without further ado, hit the jump to check out the Big Game trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 complete with some massive action sequences, sizzling romantic scenes, and the hilarious quips one would expect from your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.

For those interesting in finding out what ominous fate awaits Gwen Stacy in the sequel, the following teasers sort of provided a tease on that.

Here are the recently-released posters for the film.

Here’s the official synopsis for the film:

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is currently scheduled to be released on May 2, 2014.
