Hercules: First Look

Posted by The Daily Zombies Wednesday, June 4, 2014

Marketed as the world's first superhero, we take a First Look at Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's take on the legendary Hercules based on Steve Moore's comic book series, Hercules: The Thracian Wars.

While 2014 will no doubt be remembered by some as the year with not one but two Hollywood treatment of the Greek legend Hercules, there should be no confusion caused on the level of anticipation for both films for the very simple reason that Brett Ratner's upcoming Hercules has Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson taking on the titular character. With all due respect to Kellan Lutz and director Renny Harlin with their rendition in Summit Entertainment's The Legend of Hercules, this is The Rock we are talking about, and "The Most Electrifying Person in All of Entertainment" certainly has the quality of singlehandedly enhancing any project with his participation even if the director is Brett Ratner (whom we will never forgive for almost destroying the X-Men film franchise for good).

Based on Steve Moore's comic book series, Hercules: The Thracian Wars, Hercules promises to be a revisionist take on the myth of Hercules and is set to take place after the legendary Twelve Labors as Hercules lead a band of mercenary in a series of epic battles. Nevertheless, we did get to check out some impressive visuals showing us glimpses of the Twelve Labors in the first trailer.
