The Interview: First Look

Posted by The Daily Zombies Tuesday, June 17, 2014

Following their remarkable debut feature film with This is the End,  director duo Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen are back and they are certainly aiming high this time with The Interview, an action comedy that will absolutely antagonize a very powerful dictator.

In The Interview, the follow-up to their incredible debut feature film This is the End, director duo Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen take on the unenviable task of poking fun at one of the most notable antagonists today, the Supreme Leader of Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea, or better known as the dictator of North Korea, Kim Jong-un.

On second thought, poking fun might well be an understatement given the fact that a mission to assassinate Kim Jong-un will be what the protagonists will be taking on in the film.

BFF James Franco and Rogen take on the roles of celebrity host Dave Skylark and his producer Aaron Rapoport respectively, who chance upon the opportunity to travel to Pyongyang to conduct an interview with Kin Jong-un himself, after learning that the North Korean dictator is fan of their popular celebrity tabloid TV show, "Skylark Tonight". Unfortunately, the interview takes on a sinister turn when the CIA recruits both Skylark and Papoport to assassinate Kim Jong-un instead.

With the action comedy now set for an October 10th release, Sony has released the first trailer of The Interview to give us a first official glimpse at the film. Prepare yourself for the trailer right below.

Here’s the official synopsis for the film:

In the action-comedy The Interview, Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show “Skylark Tonight.” When they discover that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA recruits them, perhaps the two least-qualified men imaginable, to assassinate Kim Jong-un.

Also starring Lizzy Caplan and Randall Park, The Interview is currently scheduled to be released on October 10th, 2014.
