Total Recall & "Hellsenberg" by Candykiller

Scotland-based artist "Candykiller", AKA Brian Taylor, continues his graphic odyssey in providing his unique take on classic sci-fi films as he sets his eye on Paul Verhoeven's original Total Recall while breaking his tradition to take on an awesome Breaking Bad mash-up.

The graphic odyssey of artist extraordinaire Candykiller (AKA Scotland-based artist Brian Taylor) in covering classic sci-fi films has been well-chronicled here at The Daily Zombies with our earlier coverage on his incredible homage to the trilogy of films by celebrated British film-maker Sir Ridley Scotthis work on RoboCop (the original 1987 Paul Verhoeven sci-fi classic, mind you), and his return trip to cover the Alien Queen in Aliens. Continuing this awesome journey with his style of attention to intricate details coupled with awe-inspiring color palette, , Candykiller has set his eyes on yet another Paul Verhoeven sci-fi classic that has been remade into an unnecessary contemporary version of late. Namely, Arnold Schwarzenegger's Total Recall.

Speaking to Blurppy, the artist has these to say:

This may look like a straightforward rendition of a movie screenshot, but it took over 10 source photos to make up this composite pic from cropped reference images. For example, Arnie’s head was a combination of these three images, for his hair, face, and neck.  I felt that the reference photo I used for his expression was a little too over the top, so I tried to tone it down a bit, and hopefully still get the likeness right.

And here's the awesome piece as well as the reference pictures that the artist talked about (in case you have never watched the film).

Set to appear on Candykiller’s FACEBOOK PAGE on tomorrow (Monday),  you may follow the artist on his Twitter or head over to his official store to have the updates on this release.

Meanwhile, Candykiller took a depart to break tradition and conjured a delightful mash-up of AMC's Breaking Bad and Mike Mignola's Hellboy to present... Hellsenberg.

Head over to Candykiller's website to purchase the awesome print and take a sneak peek at the humorous piece right below.
