True Detective by Javier Vera Lainez

In this awesome rendition of HBO's True Detective,  Madrid-based artist Javier Vera Lainez captured the peculiar essence of the critically acclaimed crime drama in a series of prints reminiscent of Olly Moss's wildly popular rendition of the Original Trilogy of Star Wars

We have been talking about how we are living in the Golden Age of Television and there is no better evidence to support this point than HBO's True Detective, the eight-part anthology series featuring Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey as two detectives whose inevitably find their lives entwined in a seventeen-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana with investigations and trials of a bizarre murder from 1995 to 2013 when the case reopened.

In his latest project, Madrid-based artist Javier Vera Lainez clearly shared our views for the critically acclaimed crime drama written and created by Nic Pizzolatto and directed by Cary Fukunaga. Paying tribute to each of the eight episodes, Lainez employed the silhouette style that reminds one of Olly Moss's wildly popular rendition of the Original Trilogy of Star Wars. With that said, this is definitely not a knock on Lainez's innovation as the style clearly captured the peculiar essence of True Detective.

In an interview with Blurppy, Javier commented on the series:

This work is based on the double exposition of the title sequence created by the talented Jennifer Sofio Hall as Elas studio Antibody.  It tries to capture, in someway, the Louisiana landscapes and also the richness and complexity of the characters.  The common place for all this collection is the main scene representation of each episode through various visual planes, inserted into silhouettes of the characters.
