Rurouni Kenshin X Hello Kitty

Hello... Kenshin? With the concluding chapter of the Rurouni Kenshin Trilogy, The Legend Ends (るろうに剣心 伝説の最期編 Densetsu no Saigo-hen) released in Japan this weekend, Sanrio has conjured an unlikely mash-up of the classic manga/anime series with their very own Hello Kitty.

Continuing Rurouni Kenshin's unstoppable conquest at Japan's box office, Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends (るろうに剣心 伝説の最期編 Densetsu no Saigo-hen), the concluding chapter of the two back-to-back sequels to 2012's Rurouni Kenshin has been released in Japan yesterday to incredible fanfare. We have previously covered both films in the two-part sequel and are considerably impressed by The Great Kyoto Fire (るろうに剣心 京都大火編 Kyoto Taika-hen). While the second live-action adaptation of the fan-favorite story arc of the popular manga/anime series of the same name was effectively faithful to the original source material, we fully expect substantial departure in the third film based on what we saw in the final trailer.

In commemoration of the released of the much-anticipated film, Sanrio has conjured one hell of a mash-up of series protagonist and antagonist, Himura Kenshin and Shishio Makoto respectively, with their iconic character, Hello Kitty herself. And the result is truly rather unspeakably enticing. Check out the image right below to witness the incredible aberration yourself.
