The Flash: New Trailers & Poster

Posted by The Daily Zombies Saturday, September 6, 2014

While the live-action television adaptation of DC Comics' The Flash on The CW won't exactly come to us in a flash, The CW is certainly making the much-anticipated TV series' presence felt with its recent wave of marketing campaign.

While DC Comics got nothing on Marvel when it comes to their movie adaptations, their television counterparts are edging out Marvel for now (at least before the launch of the Marvel Television/ABC/Netflix project) with The CW's Arrow successfully gripping the line between campy superheroic tropes and melodramatic story-telling. And now, with The Flash joining the fray with many of the creators involved in the former directly in charge, we can expect more of the same but also more given the more superheroic nature of the Scarlet Speedster.

With the announcement that some kind of a Prison Break reunion taking place on the show with both Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell taking guest-starring roles as villains Captain Cold and Heat Wave respectively, the superhero series has gained some traction in getting the attention of many non-comic readers ahead of its release on October 7th.

Here to give us a good grip on what to expect from the series, check out the three new trailers for the series right below.

New posters for the series.

Here's the updated official synopsis of the series:

After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only "meta-human" who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion -- and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won't be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become...The Flash.

Starring Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin,  Danielle Panabaker, Rick Cosnett, Candice Patton, Tom Cavanagh, John Wesley Shipp (the original Flash in the 90s), and Carlos Valdes, The Flash will be premiering on The CW on October 7th at 8/7c.
