San Andreas: First Look

Posted by The Daily Zombies Wednesday, December 10, 2014

What happen when The Rock meets the Natural Disaster? Apparently, that will be San Andreas. And this is our First Look at the disaster film with the release of the first trailer by Warner Bros. Pictures.

First and foremost, this is not an adaptation of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. So, don't let the door hit you on your way out if you find yourself getting into a wrong article and having the profound intellect of determining that the classic game can ever get itself adapted into a live-action movie.

So here we are at the unveiling of the "go-to" disaster movie of 2015, San Andreas, which depicted the San Andreas Fault in all its glory with one hell of a Hollywood presence. Why yes, our favorite WWE on-again-off-again legend, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. And what a formidable line-up the film has assembled to respond to the incredible masculinity of the one and only Great One: From Carle Gugino, Alexandra Daddario (okay, that will get some undead vein pumping), and Kylie Minogue, we have a great Yin and Yang balance with this one in a greatly unbalanced disaster film.

Without further ado, embrace yourself into the disaster as a helicopter rescue pilot work together with his ex-wife to recover their very, very hot daughter in this trailer. Warnings: it follows every single imaginable tropes in a disaster movie.

For fans of True Detective, we have a gratuitous shot of the trailer for good measure.

If you do not see the significance of that screenshot, just try to stay away.

Here's the official synopsis for the film:

After the infamous San Andreas Fault finally gives, triggering a magnitude 9 earthquake in California, a search and rescue helicopter pilot (Dwayne Johnson) and his estranged wife make their way together from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their only daughter.

But their treacherous journey north is only the beginning. And when they think the worst may be over…it’s just getting started.

Directed by Brad Peyton, San Andreas is set to be released in both 3D and 2D on 39th May 2015.
