Mad Max: Fury Road - New Trailer & Images

Posted by The Daily Zombies Sunday, January 4, 2015

If you were stunned by what you saw in the Comic-Con Trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road, brace yourself for one hell of an awesome trailer with some truly batshit insane post-apocalyptic action sequences. With the release of some new images courtesy of The Playlist, we also take a look at the trailer released last month.

Okay, right in the opening, we called this new trailer (not exactly new since it was released back in December and we missed it) "one hell of an awesome trailer with some truly batshit insane post-apocalyptic action sequences". Is that yet another hyperbole like how we overuse the description "awesome" these days? Well, as far as we here at The Daily Zombies are concerned, hell no. It has been a while since we are converted as fans of a particular film just on the strength of a trailer (we are seldom that shallow), particularly given the well-documented tumultuous jinxed production process of franchise creator George Miller's return after a hiatus of almost three decades.

And this time, yes, we are all behind the continuation of the original post-apocalyptic anti-hero, Mad Max, AKA Max Rockatansky AKA The Road Warrior, after the first trailer and now this. Without further ado, brace yourself for a real contender for trailer of the year 2014, an amazing feat considering that we have witnessed the incredible trailers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avengers: Age of Ultron along the past year.

What a lovely day indeed. The original post-apocalyptic anti-hero is back after a hiatus of almost three decades. Mad Max, AKA Max Rockatansky AKA The Road Warrior, returns to the big screen courtesy of Tom Hardy, the new age go-to guy for badass character casting with franchise creator George Miller back at helm.

While the tumultuous jinxed production process of the film has been well-documented, we are just glad the film will definitely be ready come May 15 next year. In the fourth installment from the Mad Max franchise, Max continues his brooding way as new characters show up in the post-apocalyptic landscape for better or worse. Charlize Theron is Imperator Furiosa, leading a group of post-apocalyptic creeps including, but not limited to a freakishly-bleached Nicholas Hoult, as well as Zoe Kravitz and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Without a shadow of a doubt, one of the most deftly cut trailer displaying complete mastery over visual sensory overload. After checking out the trailer, we have this to say to Mr. Miller, as well as the cast of the film: Your time in Namibia and Australia are not wasted. From the part where Charlize Theron's character, Imperator Furiosa give her lines on picking up and run and the orchestra kicks in, the trailer goes warp speed into the infinite land of awesomeness.

And here's a new official poster recently released.

And here's the official synopsis for the film:

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.

“Mad Max: Fury Road”—the fourth in the franchise’s history—stars Tom Hardy (“The Dark Knight Rises”) in the title role, alongside Oscar winner Charlize Theron (“Monster,” “Prometheus”) as the Imperator, Furiosa. The film also stars Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”) as Nux; Hugh Keays-Byrne (“Mad Max”, “Sleeping Beauty”) as Immortan Joe; and Nathan Jones (“Conan the Barbarian”) as Rictus Erectus. Collectively known as The Wives, Zoë Kravitz (“Divergent”) plays Toast, Riley Keough (“Magic Mike”) is Capable, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (“Transformers: Dark of the Moon”) is Splendid. They are joined by supermodel Abbey Lee as The Dag and Courtney Eaton as Fragile, both of whom are making their big screen debuts. Also featured in the movie are Josh Helman as Slit, Jennifer Hagan as Miss Giddy, and singer/songwriter/performer iOTA as Coma-Doof Warrior. The cast is rounded out by well-known Australian actors John Howard and Richard Carter, supermodel Megan Gale, Angus Sampson, Joy Smithers, Gillian Jones, Melissa Jaffer and Melita Jurisic.

Mad Max: Fury Road is currently scheduled to open on May 15, 2015.
