Minions: New Trailers

Who they are and how they came to be? The origins of Minions will be revealed in the prequel to Universal Pictures' Despicable Me animated film franchise and we get to have a closer look at the much-anticipated animated film featuring the voice of Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm, courtesy of the Big Game.

Last December, we had our First Look at Minions, the spin-off cum prequel to the Despicable Me animated film franchise, thanks to the release of the first trailer of the animated cash cow that Universal Pictures are gladly in possession of.

Here at The Daily Zombies, we will be the first to confessed that the Minions are exactly the animation tropes of the adorable creatures that will get all the adorations and its associated merchandise benefits. But there is no doubt that the yellow creatures have their way to warm into the coldest and undead hearts. In the prequel, the origins of the born-sidekicks are explored as they joined the reins of master supervillain, Scarlet Overkill, in the good ol' glorious 1960s.

Here to continue the narrative of the first trailer, we get to check out how the three brave minions meet Scarlet Overkill as well as a logical story-telling scene pulled off by Sandra Bullock's Scarlet Overkill. Check out the new trailer right below.

And in the spirit of the Big Game, here's a hilarious new TV spot released during Super Bowl XLIX.

New poster for the animated film.

Here's the official synopsis for the film:

The story of Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s Minions begins at the dawn of time. Starting as single-celled yellow organisms, Minions evolve through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters. Continuously unsuccessful at keeping these masters—from T. rex to Napoleon—the Minions find themselves without someone to serve and fall into a deep depression.
But one Minion named Kevin has a plan, and he—alongside teenage rebel Stuart and lovable little Bob—ventures out into the world to find a new evil boss for his brethren to follow.

The trio embarks upon a thrilling journey that ultimately leads them to their next potential master, Scarlet Overkill (Academy Award® winner Sandra Bullock), the world’s first-ever female super-villain. They travel from frigid Antarctica to 1960s New York City, ending in mod London, where they must face their biggest challenge to date: saving all of Minionkind…from annihilation.

Featuring a soundtrack of hit music from the ’60s that still permeates our culture today, Minions is produced by Illumination’s Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy, and is directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda. Brian Lynch has written the screenplay for the 3D-CG comedy adventure, and Chris Renaud serves as executive producer of the film.

A spin-off/prequel to the Despicable Me animated films, Minions is directed by
Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, with the voice of Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm, and Michael Keaton. The animated film is set to to be released on 10th July, 2015.
