Based on the classic espionage TV series of the same name first broadcast in 1963, British film-maker Guy Ritchie is back with The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and we have our First Look at the film courtesy of the release of its debut trailer by Warner Bros. Pictures.
Here's the first poster of the film.

Here's the official synopsis of the film.
Following Matthew Vaughn's X-Men First Class in 2012, Hollywood will give another go at recreating the swinging 60s in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. with British film-maker Guy Ritchie at helm. An adaptation of the 1960s espionage TV series of the same name, Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer will be taking on the roles of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin respectively. For the uninformed, the two main protagonists are indeed a pair of American and Russian secret agents working together to fight a greater enemy at the height of Cold War.
If that concept is enticing to you, you should be glad that you are hardly the only one. The adaptation was originally the pet project of Steven Soderberg himself, had Warner Bros. allow him the bigger budget that he sought for the elaborate 1960s setting. Nevertheless, Warners Bros. apparently found someone who can still translate that on to the big screen with Ritchie, who have the bragging rights for having made period dramas with his Sherlock Holmes films. With the release of the first trailer for the film, we can't help but wonder the "could haves, would haves" with Soderbergh's take on the material. This is of course with no disrespect to Ritchie's take, which appeared to be really smooth and savvy, in keeping with the 60s theme. Cavill looks to be a great replacement for Tom Cruise, who was originally cast in the same role, chewing his scenes as a smooth operator who is undoubtedly American while Hammer reciprocate well with his cold Russian schtick.

Set against the backdrop of the early 1960s, at the height of the Cold War, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. centers on CIA agent Solo and KGB agent Kuryakin. Forced to put aside longstanding hostilities, the two team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organization, which is bent on destabilizing the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology. The duo’s only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to infiltrating the criminal organization, and they must race against time to find him and prevent a worldwide catastrophe.
