Posted by The Daily Zombies Monday, March 9, 2015

With the super-mysterious Tomorrowland hitting the big screens in two months, Walt Disney Pictures is finally allowing us a closer look at the much-anticipated sci-fi film directed by  Brad Bird in this cool new trailer.

As far as high-profile tentpole films blessed/cursed with feverish fan anticipation and incredible level of secrecy go, Disney certainly has the market cornered down to a fault this year (if they aren't already the Master of pop culture given their insane port folio). And we are of course talking about the penultimate climax of Marvel Studios' Phase Two, Avengers: Age of Ultron, the sequel that needs no further introduction, Star Wars Episode VII, and why yes, Tomorrowland, the second live-action directorial feature of Brad Bird, who brought us gems like The Incredibles, and Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol.

With Age of Ultron being the first film of the group to be unleashed on an unsuspecting audience, we have had a big blow-out look at the film last week. And with Tomorrowland hitting the theaters just a couple of weeks after Age of Ultron, we knew we are in for the commence of the next phase of the marketing campaign of the film that has been famously treated by Walt Disney Studio as a highly classified project despite its conspicuous inspiration from the futuristic themed land at the five Disney Land theme parks around the world.

With the release of its second and indeed, the first real glimpse at the precise scope and scale of what appears to be an ambitious original sci-fi film co-written by Damon Lindelof, we are truly delighted to detect a sense of joyous vibe of astonishment that are lovingly retro yet nonetheless a spectacle in its own might.

Without further ado, check out the full-length trailer for some truly astounding visuals with good heart, and of course, two of the most famous TV doctors around.

Update: 10 March 2015 - Following the release of the trailer, both Lindelof and Bird took to Facebook to engage the audience on the film. Here are some of the notable gems from the conversation that any self-respecting genre fans should check out.

Lindelof on the casting of Hugh Laurie (mainly because they need someone who is..._:

“A. Be very, very smart. B. Be very, very funny. C. Go toe to toe with George as to who is the greatest former TV doctor.”

Bird on inspirations for the film:

“I was not inspired by old science fiction as much as I was inspired by how the future used to be seen in contrast to how it’s seen today. One of our inspirations was all the hidden Mickeys in the parks… the idea that the Imagineers themselves want to reward the super fans is something we really plugged into!”
