Deadpool: First Look

Posted by The Daily Zombies Wednesday, April 1, 2015

Yes, it is the 1st of April today but this ain't no April's Fool joke as we delight ourselves with one hell of an awesome announcement that the upcoming live-action adaptation of Marvel Comics' Deadpool featuring Ryan Reynolds will be proudly rated R.

Finally, justice served for our favorite Merc with a Mouth from Marvel. Earlier last September, we witnessed the power of fanfare with the announcement of the live-action adaptation of Deadpool as part of the mutant film franchise by 20th Century Fox with acclaimed VFX artist Tim Miller at helm as the director and Ryan Reynolds returning in his role from the 2009 god-awful trainwreck X-Men Origins: Wolverine. All thanks to the overwhelmingly positive response to the "accidental leak" of the proof of concept test footage conjured by Miller himself with Reynolds providing the voice of the Merc with a Mouth.

With even us here at The Daily Zombies calling this one of those rare "Shut Up and Take My Money" moment, 20th Century Fox has confirmed the release of the film on 12th February 2016. As of now, we understand that Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, and T. J. Miller will be taking on the respective role of Copycat, Angel Dust and Deadpool's only best pal, Weasel. All this aren't news as the real big deal is the profoundly awesome way that the film crew has took on in finally confirming the much-speculated rating of the film. Just some time back, the ever social-active Reynolds took to Twitter to address how he felt towards the film's rating issue.

With that said, we can see that Reynolds still entertaining the possibility of a PG-13 rating after that.

And here we are today, as Reynolds engaged himself with Extra's Mario Lopez to eventually announced the R-rated rating of the film in the most awesome reveal of a film rating that we have ever witnessed. Brace yourself.

Fuck you Slater. And the follow-up tweet.

Indeed. The only way to do justice to perhaps the most R-rated Marvel character ever is to conjure a R-rated live-action film to honor him. Incidentally, the first official image of the costume was also unveiled by Reynolds some time back.

And the official logo.

Here's the official synopsis of the film.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Starring Ryan Reynolds as the eponymous character, Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, and T. J. Miller, Deadpool is currently scheduled for release on 12th February 2016.
