Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse - New Trailer

Posted by The Daily Zombies Thursday, June 7, 2018

Brace yourself for the big screen arrival (I know this ain't no MCU but still) of your new friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, Miles Morales. And Spider-Gwen, Gwen Stacy.

Yes, we missed covering the release of the first teaser trailer for Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse animated film starring everyone's favorite friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, Miles Morales (okay, that will forever be a debate). With the release of the latest trailer, we get to meet Spider-Gwen, the alternate reality Gwen Stacy who became a Spider-Woman in her own right after the fateful bite of a radioactive spider. Yes, the fan favorite Spider-Gwen will be in this one. So who else will be there as we enter the Spider-Verse?

Well, Peter Parker himself got a shot at that question when Miles innocently asked, "How many Spider-people are there?"... "Save it for Comic-Con, kid."

Apart from that, we also get a glimpse of the multiple villains featured from The Prowler (Aaron Davis, Miles' uncle), The Kingpin (Wilson Fisk), and an unknown Goblin that sure looked green, More importantly, the trailer played up the father/son bond between Miles and Jefferson Morales well. Yes, this is a Spider-Man who understand that with great powers come great responsibilities without any sacrifice from his loved ones.

With Phil Lord (yes, that same Phil Lord) on the screenplay, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is directed by the trio of Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman. Check out the fun-filled trailer right below.

Here's the official synopsis for the film:

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind.  Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is currently scheduled to be released December 14, 2018.
